How about a 200X, what would they be worth? I have also found a 200X that the guy wants $900. It is in pretty good shape. What would be a fair deal and a good deal? Thanks!

here's my take on 200x prices. for a machine that needs nothing 700-900. Really nice, 900 - 1200. When I machine needs stuff it's 700 and down, amount depends on what it needs. These are just rough numbers. I'd say these are fair deals. They may be a little low, but it's someplace to start.

If its an 83-85, I definently wouldnt pay above $700 for one. If its an 86/87: thats an differant story. To answer the question ims ure youll ask next: The differanc ebetween 83-85 & 86 is -everything-, 6 speed tranny on the 86, superior suspension, looks, and power. THe 87 is the same but with white tank flares, a few very small changes @ the swingarm (its red instead of grey lie the others) and has a keyed ignition.

It looks like an '86 I believe. It has white fenders and the Honda "wing" decal on the tank. It does not have the "swooping" 200X on the side of the tank.

decals make absolutely no differance unless this is a 100% stock one.

Yeah, I know I am going to have to check the vin to know fofr sure, but this is what I know currently. I guess I could check for 6-speed as well?
It should say the model year and the build date on the vin tag. Also, ask the guy if it's ever been rebuilt. Alot of times guys rebuild the top end and leave chunks of broken piston ring down inside the case. This can do serious damage over time. 200X's are very reliable machines and one thats never been apart is worth more. For a good 86-87 I might pay up to $1500.
