Does anyone know where I can get a rear axle for a 1986 KXT 250? I've been all over the net, ebay, etc with no luck. Does any other year tecate fit this application? While riding this past weekend, a deer jumped out in front of me while I was buzzing down a trail. I just missed the deer, but clipped a tree. The only damaged the trike sustained was the rear axle, nothing else. Any feed-back would be greatly appreciated!!!

Hey call or email these dudes in Florida. They have tons of trike stuff along with tons of tecate stuff. They might be able to assist you. Here is one of their auctions......

My personal opinion of heating and straightening axles is a grim one. Most of these axles are originally induction hardened. If you heat them, you essetially normalize them. In which case they will bend very easily from that point on.

my axil wasnt heated...and yes it is bad to heat them....my axik the guy found the high spot of the bend on a lathe and a needle caliper or whatever..then he just bent it back...cold with a 50 ton press...the axil is still straight ;)

Thats good to hear. The needle caliper is called a dial indicator by the way. :beer
