My friend has the same machine as me. 1986 Honda 250SX, and he wants to get a conversion kit for it. Do any of you guys where i can tell him to go for a 3 to 4 wheel conversion kit.

You can buy a nice 86 or 87 TRX250, which is pretty much the same machine as 250sx, 250es in a quad form, for about $1500. Thats about what the kit costs if you can find one.

yeah dude tell him to get a 4wheeler for about the same price and sale the 3wheeler to some one u can apreciate it

hmmm.... the trx250 is an alright quad but remind him of the 250ex or recon, which are just modern day big reds and sx's; not as fast though.

don't ruin a trike, tell him to sell the damn thing and get a quad, it's just not worth doing it, and why is like a 1990 trx250 to modern lol

Just tell him you cant find a conversion and they stopped making them 20 years ago ( :p )

ive got same bike 86 250sx but im hopefully keeping it a trike if i dont its gona get the fornt end of an old 4wheeler welded to it.

dont yell at me mines prolly staying a trike! :TrikesOwn

A Honda TRX250 is pretty much a 4 wheeled version of the trike you have. They sell for $1000-$1600, so in answer to your question, no the conversion is not worth it. Sell the trike, buy the quad, and youll still have lots of gas money left over.

Buying a conversion kit would be the same, or more expensive in cost as buying a TRX 250.. don't let him ruin his trike!

My buddy just sold a 85 250SX with a 4-wheeler conversion for $500. That's why he sold it because of the conversion, it was hardly rideable as a 4-wheeler. Horrible turning radius and suspensoin travel. We have 2 TRX250's, we got them for about $400 each and they are really nice, tell him to buy on of those as Tim said.
