View Full Version : 87 200X swingarm bushing replacement
I'm trying to replace the swingarm bushings in my 87 200X. I got the pivot bolt nut off, but am having no luck driving the bolt through. I tried spinning it out with an impact and hitting it with an eight pound sledge. The swingarm, obviously, is all sloppy from the bushings being out. So I tried to carefully align everything and still can't get it. I think the bolt may be bent. Is there anything I can do?

Is this Speed20??
to get the bolt out, its better to "break the resistance" by putting a socket on it and going around a couple times to break all the dirt & probably rust that could be in there, not to mention the grease surely has gone bad id it hasnt been taken apart and greased within the last year & a half.
I am able to turn the bolt with a socket, but it turns very hard and still won't come out. Thanks anyway.

i had the same problem, i had to cut the bolt with a die grinder to get it out. when i got it out, the swingarm bolt and the pivot collar were rusted together. i just want to warn you, the bolt costs 60.00 and the pivot collar costs 46.00 unless you find them on ebay like i did.

I spent $200 replacing all of that swingarm stuff, but I now know it will last a long time. I got it out using a lot of heat and a big hammer :-D
