I took my bike apart to fix the carb, and lost the clip for my needle, and my jet holder. It sat all winter without running, and last week I finally got the parts to make it run. I put them in, and now when I try to start it, it only fires half the time. Sometimes it will idle in neutral, but dies when I put it in 1st. Other times it will run all the way up to 5th gear, but dies when I let off the throttle. I was told that all my jets were supposed to be tight, and I was also told that they were supposed to be unscrewed a bit. Could someone please clear this up? Also, what is my idle screw? I've been told to adjust it, but I can't figure out which screw it is. Anyone know what my problem could be?
Thanks

Jets should be tight but not 100ft/lbs tight!
To start tighten your jets? Check your air screw and your idle adjust screws.
Air screw should be 2 3/4 turns out to start with. Adjust your idle screw down to minimum then increase to get it started. Make sure your throttle cable is adjusted correctly. Check for intake leaks around the carb boots!
Good luck -RR
