Hi,

I am trying to figure out where some noise is coming from on my trike. It has a pretty good click. Anyway, I adjusted the values to make sure they were ok, and they were, but when I was in there I noticed an abnormal amount of play in one of my rocker arms (not up and down play as expected).

So I am looking at replacing it. Anything I should note, watch out for, etc when doing this. I have the manual and am quite sure I can do it no problem, just want to see what you people think.

Also, is this a part I can just grap off another 250, or should I really invest in a brand new arm/shaft? Some parts are just not best replaced with used parts.

Let me know what you think,
Thanks,
Alex

Id say just buy the part brand new from honda, also if you have the money replace both of them, this way itll be a good 10 years before you have to replace them again.

Does anyone know........besides sounding like heck if I let this go (which I won't be anyway) what are the chances of something breaking.... do the rocker arms ever become so worn out that they cause major damage?

Usually once there's play up there and all the journals are worn on everything - it's tough to get it tight again. You probably also have a really worn timing chain making noise. Lots of time a lack of enough oil wears everything out pretty quick or you have to figure out why the topend isn't getting enough oil. Fix it or just keep running worn metal through the whole motor.
