83 250r need advice

I lent some money out to a guy, i told him if he doesn;t pay me in a week i will be comming to pick up his trike, it been a month and still no money so i guess i now can go get his trike, i talk to him last night and he said i might as well take his almost complete parts trike, so i will be going to pick up two 1983 250r trikes. thehickfarmer on here already wants the one.

How much can you bore it it, the one is already 50 over and needs a piston so can it be bored once more or is that it?

Should i bother with the trikes or just stick to my 350's, i dont mind 2 stroke sleds but never have good luck with 2 stroke bikes.

well...depending on how much money this was over sounds like you got a real good deal...since you have a running trike??? i assume the one complete one runs, and a parts one...you could put all the best parts from both on one bike...

I doubt the "hick" will come thru with your deal. He just backed out on me and the 1982 250r after I made plans to deliver it Tuesday. If you want to actually sell one or both I am interested and will travel Ontario to pick it up. Ask 84 Yamahauler I went to Sudbury for 2 he was selling.

I know some people that live up that way..they drive a truck for INCO i think. Are u in the mining buisness erussell

Yes I am a miner but I live in southern Ontario. I work 1800 ft underground at sifto on Goderich. Best job in the world. Mining runs in my family and the wifes so I think my two boys will be underground too, I hope anyway.

How much were u selling that 82 250r for, I talked to the guy today about them, and i honestly dont think i even want to bother with them, his parts trike is now only like the some of the motor, he gave the rest all away, and the so called good one is blown up now, and the suspenion is crap, you need to shift twice to get from first to 2nd cause it goes to neutral no matter what, so it needs a rebuild and doesn;t look the best anyways. I am going there later on and will then know what i will do.

how much money could i get by parting out a trike thats been beat to hell not only once but twice?

Not worth much to part out cause guys deduct the shipping amount from the total they are willing to pay for the part. i.e. if the beat up part is worth $10 to them but costs $9 to ship, they will only give you $1 for the part! I can always use a few parts and for almost a trikes worth of parts would make the drive

When ever i have shiped to the states if u just use regular mail it is pretty cheap.

what were you going to get for your 82 250r?

i will let you know about this other trike, or i can bring it to trike fest for you, or even just the parts u want
