the rear shock doesnt usually get messed with, except for maybe the spanner adjustment bolts, what they use is a adjustable strut that lowers the whole setup, as for the front forks sometimes they put weaker springs in so it sits lower, or they raise them in the clamps.

just remember if you lower your tree's on the front forks 1 1/2 in. or more even a very small jump will cause the front tire to make contact with the front fender.

I know they make a replacement rear shock arm for the ATC&TRX 250R's.The shock arm is that aluminum thing with a grease fitting in it that looks like a doggie bone. The replacement arm is a adjustable turnbuckle.Low profile tiers and axle exstenders or a exspensive exstended axle would do it if you raised the spring tension spaner nuts.Loosen the spring.

i have a adj, strut on my 250r, I bought a 87-89 so that I could properly setup my 88 year elka 0 preload shock, now the bike sits 21" off the ground when I'm on it. The correct way and also improve handling would be to buy a different shock(0 preload), that will lower and also give you more travel. ct used to sell different springs to lower the front end. if you are only gonna be flat tracking, cut you springs.
