Son and I (well actually he has done 99%) got the top end off, how do we get the piston out? This is our first top end, so full details would be nice :D Double click the pictures for bigger size
Thanks
PS. See the nice small hole where he is holding the piston
the hole that runs side ways through the piston.it has a circlip on each side take a tiny screw driver and pry it out then push the wrist pin out with your finger.

In the sides of the piston, there are 2 holes. Your wrist pin goes through these. Up in the holes about 1/2 inch in, there are little wire clips, called circlips. You need to remove one of these and then you can push the wrist pin out. Then the piston is off the rod. There should be a little indention that will let you get under the circlip and pry it up so you can pull it out. You really need to invest in a manual. It is so much easier to see in a manual than someone trying to explain it.

Some stuff I understand and some I don't. Local shop wants $90 for piston kit and $22 for gaskets and $35 for bore work. Sound right?
not unreasonable you could shop around and beat gasket and piton prices in catologs but wats 20 bucks. you said it your self you dont under stand every thing.so suport your local mechanic and he will help you back i am sure of it. :)
