Atc 70 Question

I picked up another 1984 (so the sticker says) 70 the other day, she is in pretty good shape but anywho...... The one Ive had for a few years another 1984 the gear pattern is up and the new one is down and they are both 4 speeds... What year motors had the different gear patterns? I still have to get the # off of the motors....... thanks matt

Not sure w- the 70s but on the 125s the 84 was down and the 85 is up so mabey the first one you had wasnt original.

the 81-84 are all down shifts just like the older 3 speeds, the 85's are the only ones with upshift pattern.
