Right now I have a 02 400ex, I have 10 months until its paid off. When it's paid off i'm going to either sell it or trade it. I want to get 2 trikes with the money or in a trade. I want something that will beat the 400ex and then something that would be more of a everyday rider. So im thinking of a tecate or 250r for flat out speed also has to be able to ride wheelies for days, and like a 250sx for a everyday. I live in Virginia so I need something for going up hills threw creeks and skinny trails. I'm just getting tired of having to get off and pull the front end around the turn. I have just always been partial to trikes. It's pretty bad when I leave the 400ex in the shed and take the atc70 out for the day. Help me out fellas.
PLEASE DO NOT MOVE THIS TO QUAD CENTRAL.
Thanks Eric

tiger or cagiva but you might go over budget, and you'll have a hard time finding one

Sounds like you need an '86 tecate--The 250r's are everywhere and would be easier to find parts for (and plenty fast)--And the sx is a great trailrider

Sounds like the tecate takes the speed is it a good wheelie bike also? Is there a bore kit?
Thanks All
Eric

I think you have the right frame of mind. Get a 250SX to be the work horse but yet sporty to play around on. Then get a 2 stroker to get wild on either 250r or a Tecate. :D

get a 250r and a 200x for the trails. the 200x's have good speed an they're awesome trailbikes. the only bad thing is ya don't have reverse.

I would have to agree with what else has been posted about picking up an R, or a Tecate for speed. As for the trails, a 250sx I think would be the cats @$$ because it's has front and rear suspension, reverse, as well as shaft drive.

yep tecate or 85-86 r for haulin, and a sx for the everyday because it has lots of features appropriate for every day riding and you can get it going pretty quick when you put the 350x carb on there with a 300 cylinder

So which can I make faster? The R or the Tecate?
Thanks Again

whichever one you can put more money into. lol. but seriosuly, if you really want to put alot of money into something, i'd pick the R for these reasons
1) there are more R's than tecates, so if your going to be pushing the limits of your motor, its going to be more prone to break
2) there are much more aftermarket parts for the R's because they are more popular
I'm not saying that the tecate is an inferior machine, i'm saying that if you want something that you are going to want to ride alot, kick trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro and take names with, and not spend a forture maintaining, go for the R. you can't even get new plastic for tecates anymore, among other things. good luck

you can make the R faster and find parts easier

I just got back from riding with some friends with a 400ex a warrior and a foreman in tight woods trails and rode circles around them. While they were getting off and pulling and hitting reverse i was just turning the wheel and going on my 350X. Get an R for speed and ease of finding parts and a 350X for the trails and wheelies.
