Can any of you on the board tell me some good sorces for parts other than ebay and cal-atv? I just bought a frame and swing arm and am gonna be needin a whole bunch of stuff. Also can anyone tell me which parts, bolts, brackets, brakes etc. are interchangable between the ATC and the TRX? Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

Servicehonda.com and partsfish.com are 2 good sites for new oem parts.

I did a total frame up on my '85 starting with powder coating the frame and swing arm to all NEW "HONDA PLASTIC, I bought most all parts from Riva Honda/Yamaha. here in ft lauderdale fl. But my question is are you trying to build a bike from scratch piece by piece. Or restoring an existing bike??????

If youre building it from scratch, its probably gonna run you $10K by the time you are finished.

yepper, most of the time your better off buying a ragged out 250r, and rebuilding that, as opposed to building piece by piece.. also you can get things like bolt packages off ebay, instead of oem stuff, they look better, and last longer, powder coat everything you can, and polish the rest! my 2 cents!

I am starting from scratch. So far I got the frame and swingarm. I am gonna use a mixture of used and new parts. What about the interchangeable parts I asked about? Whats the scoop?

hopefully your using an 86 swingarm? cause then you can use trx parts with it.. for an 86.. the motors will be the same, the wire harnesses will not be the same, find a nice triple clamps and polish it, along with the forks, front hub, and the rest will be easy...

I got an 85 frame and swing arm with the wiring harness included. If I used the 86 swingarm would the TRX stuff such as axle, rear shock etc. be useable?
Yep, TRX stuff is your best bet for interchangable parts, mainly 86/87. stay away from 88/89 TRX stuff. Also wheels for a 200x, 350x will bolt on a 250R. Then some odds and ends of 200x, 350x stuff will work like Handlebars, etc. but best bet is sticking with 85-86 R stuff
I have a bunch of 250r parts... that you might need, including a motor and tree and forks in real nice shape. e-mail me
