The automatic chain oiler on my 84 250r is pumping out to much oil. I already pop rivited the line to try and slow it down but it is still shooting out to much. What can I do to fix this? :TrikesOwn

Uh, I think tahts an excuse for a hole gone wrong somewhere? Better check it out...
Now that I think about it, My 110 had one, only because the output shaft seals were shot! :p :TrikesOwn

I'm not so sure that's bogus. I know the R doesn't have one but I've heard of it before. 110? I haven't had mine apart yet but I've heard this before.

I actually thought about making one of these years ago. We had a machine at work that had a reservoir for oil, a line to the chain and a valve to control the speed of the drip. Then I noticed the huge oily mess that accumulated over time and thought better of it.

I havent seen one in a while, but JC Whitney used to sell a bolt on automatic chain oiler. It pretty much dripped oil on the chain. I dont remember the specifics as to how it worked or what prevented a puddle of oil when you parked it, but they did sell one at one time.
My 250R briefly had an automatic chain oiler when the sprocket shaft seal began leaking!
I hope the tube is not the crank case vent tube!
