When I bought my 1985 200x, the guy showed me the tread on the left tire was more worn that on the right. He said he it must be low. When I got home I realized it wasn't low and when I rode it looked back and saw the tire wobbling a tiny bit. More than the right. Thats a warped rim right? If it was the axle wouldn't the tire be jumping or just set back farther than the other? How can I tell which is bent? What can I do to fix this?
Also, I was going to just switch the wheels to check but I'm not going to be able to get the cotter pin out without breaking it. I don't know if they're meant to be broken or what.. Are they really that important?? Yeah I know about as much as a mechanics wife I know but can someoen help me out?
Thanks

Jack it up and take the wheel off and then start it up put it in gear and give it gas to see if the axle wobbles. The cotter pins are nothing. I always put new ones in when i take my wheels off. You can buy them at any hardware store.
Jack the rear end up, and have somebody sit on it, put it in gear, and give it gas. You stand behind it and look and see what's wobbling. You don't have to take the cotter pin out to change tires, just hubs.

Ok, and If I don't see axle moving it is DEFINATLY the rim right? Could it be the bearing maybe? And I just looked and noticed a missing cotterpin but on the good wheel. Just wondering if my wheel could have fallen off while riding.

yes it could have, make sure you replace it. and you don't need to take that ub off to get the wheel off. the four nuts on the outside will take the wheel off. tha nut is just for the hub

One thing that might be wrong is my 84 200X when i bought it the thing would hop down the rode and one tire had less tread on it then the other well i took the rims off and looked at the bolt holes for the hub. Some one that owned it before me had not put washers on the studs and ovalized the rims so it wobbled real bad when it went down the road. Also make sure you put a cotter pin in the axle!!!! My little brother was driveing my dads 110 and there was no cotter pin in it and the wheel fell off!

I just put the end of my trike up on a custom stand, the ones that roll the trike up, and have rollers for the axle, and look at the wheel nut with the cotter pin. If that large nut it wobbling, I know that the axle is bent.

swap your wheels from one side to the other. If the wobble stays on one side, its the axle, or hub. If the wobble changes sides, its the rim.
