I have toasted the engine in my tri z and I can't find another one in my area. Can a tri moto engine fit, or give me some ideas of what can go in the frame. I have heard of people using YZ 250's, but I am getting old and I don't need the power anymore.

if you think trailprotrailpro geating older and don't want the speed anyomre, sell trailprotrailpro trike as is and get trailprotrailpro self a nice old big red or maybe a 250sx, it has enough speed yet still is a great cruiser

With some work, you can make anything fit in there. Thehickfarmer is right though, you would be better off seliing it as is and buying a different bike. If it were me, I would keep looking for another Z engine and put it back together. You don't have to ride it hard or fast if you don't want. I own 3 TRI-Zs though and I hate to see one go out like that.

Guys, You missed my point, I was wondering if I could put a YZ 250 engine in, has anyone done this, I have a 200 tri moto engine and I am going to put it in so I can ride it now. My wife wants me to sell it , I have had broken ribs and a collarbone, she says I am getting to old for this.

Currently I have a Yamaha Tri z, Honda 250 sx, 1977 odyessy, 1980 Yamaha xs 650 dirt track conversion, 1980 Yamaha xs 650 British Cafe conversion, 1974 Suzuki t 500 and a 1967 Suzuki t 20. AND A LOT OF PARTS.

I only aquired the tri z last year and put about a 100 kms on it before the engine went south last week climbing the mounds in the gravel pit up the road.

Yes you can use any watercooled engine up to 87 will be a direct bolt in. I bet if you did some checking any engine after 87 would be very easy to transplant. :D
