please help guys!! carb question

need help guys. i am changing the carb on my 225dx. i removed it according to the clymer manual. almost got it off then i got stuck. it says to loosen the choke valve and remove it. thats it for that part. i did this however, i can not get the choke cable out of the carb. how do i do this? then, how do i re-install it?. the *#$*! manual left these parts out. please help?

So you unscrewed it, then the whole slide should slide right out. Does your choke work? Maybe the o-ring is just tight, or it could be stuck in there.

It should come out, the only thing holding it in there is rust.

i got it loose. it will spin in there but not come out??????

After you spin it out. Can you see the threads? If you can see threads it is probably just stuck from debris being iin the way. Maybe put a little force on it to see if it will move. Be careful not to break anything.

You can clean up that choke real good with some fine steel wool.
