Had my first drag race today

ok yesterday i took out the king, my 86 250R to a local atv park for the first time, i was the only one out there with a 3 wheeler, but everyone that stopped and talked to me loved the thing, well after riding for awhile and one bad crash, i ran into a guy with a new 2004 suzuki quadsport 400 me and him road around for a bit and he asked if i would like to race i told him that my 250 was fast but he was sure he was going to win but i smoked him by more then 50 yards in a 300 yard race but sad to say i lost a drag to a 2004 YZF450 by 1 bike length so thats my story

Sounds like you had fun that day! Draggin is very fun! Problem with me is the holeshot! It takes the power away, and my trike likes to point its nose up in the sky! I can race with the 200-250 quads, and I'm equal to the 300's, like the 300ex... It's all fun though...

You could of beat the 2004 YZF450 if you raced a longer race, the 450 is a rocket ship up to its top speed, I wish it had another gear though. I need to take my 85 r out and do some riding with it. sounds like you had fun.

I have been out run on topend by a yfz450 and it has a 1 smaller then stock front sprocket. :mad: The same machine also outran a 02 raptor with stock gearing the same day topend and quickness.

I bellieve that, the yfz I rode Saturday was stock except for the plug being pulled and rejetted, The motor only had maybe 8 hours on it, I'm seriously considering breaking down and buying one. That is one nice machine.
