83 R ?

Hello, i have a 83R and i have been using hp2 in it mixed 32:1 and i just got a free tank for it off my grandpa that says to run 20:1 on it and i'm not sure if thats a original sticker or not so what do you think i should run in it? And my grandpa has a 350x headlight in good shape do you think it would look better than the one on it now or no? Thanks for the help :)

I have one last ? for you this is my first 2 stroke and it will idle fine when i first start off but after i ride it for so long it starts to idle weird and one time i went to shut it off and it didn't shut off it just started idling real high....any help would be nice

Sounds like a possible air leak. Take some starting fluid or carb cleaner and spray around the head gasket, base gasket, carb/reed area. If it revs up when you spray, you have an air leak.

sounds to me like its running a bit lean, an airleak you would notice at first and constantly, you say it runs fine when first started up, but what happens is as you ride it then engine gets hotter and as it gets hotter it burns more fuel so it needs to have more, maybe your main jet is too small and not providing enough gas to the engine when it warms up, try moving the clip on the carb slide needle down a notch, if that doesnt work, move it down another, if you go all the way down to the bottom notch and its still doing it, i would change your jet to the next size up and so on untill it stops...

about the oil thing jeswinehart hit the nail right on the head, thats all you need to know about that.

i tryed what you said and it was still doing it so i had my dad look at it and he found that the base gaskit blew out on the left side and is suckin air or something like that so now i need a new base gaskit thanks for the tip anyway
