hello, i'm new to the site, and i'm restoring a 200x. Where would be the best place to find rear brakes, including caliper, resovoir, lines and everything?

I would check out your local cycle slavage yards and ebay is sometimes a good place to get parts

Well ebay is always the best place to find stuff at a good price if you watch closely. Sometimes you can get them at the dealer but they are coming harder and harder to find..........peace

If it helps, I believe the front and rear calipars are the same on a 200 x :)

your resto looks great! good job. It actually reminds me of a 200X that i just bought. Its half restored, exactly the same as your pic. Front fender, no motor etc.

thanks man, My plan is to polish the side cases of the motor but the left side is cracked, looks like the chain cracked it. should i just get it fixed or get a new one?

I have a couple cases at home, but i'm at college and wont be home until may 13th. but if you want to wait, they are for sale. But, you could get it welded or just put some JB weld on it, it might be cheaper than buying a new case. It all depends on your mind set. Is it worth saving a couple bucks? if you have one of the sprocket guaerds that come stock on them, nobody will ever see the weld. So, to answer your question, i guess its just a preference thing.

do u know how much you would want for the case? or do you think jb weld would hold up good enough?

i want $40 for both right and left. I dont want to split them up because nobody wants the right side, so i'll be stuck with it. but, i think JB weld will work. i've never used it, but i've heard of people doing it and not having any problems. If you have the cacses apart already though, i'd just take it in and get it welded at a local shop. you can't go wrong with welding, as long as the welder knows what they are doing. good luck
