I rebuilt my carb the other day and here is the problem. when i open the pet cock and fill the float bowl when it gets full gas comes out two little copper tubes that are on the air filter side. if you look at the carb with the air filter assembly off the carb there are two little copper tubes that stick out towards the air tube. that is where gas is coming out. i dont see how you can adjust the float since it is plastic. can the float be adjusted? if so i am sure that would solve my problme unless anybody has any suggestions.

Below is what I wrote on 3wheeler.org:

Check your float height!

1) Correct Float Height:

Before changing any jetting parts, check the carburetor floats for correct height. Measure the height from the bottom of the float to the Throttle Opening. carburetor-body gasket surface. Correct height can be found on the chart. When checking the float height, the float should be resting, but not depressing, the spring-loaded float valve pin. This can be done by tilting the carburetor until the float tab just makes contact with the valve pin. If adjustment is needed, bend the metal tab on the float arm until correct height is obtained.--see example #1

Plastic floats usually cannot be adjusted. Its more likely that the needle controlled by the floats is sticking or not closing properly. One grain of sand will do it.

TimSr go to the link below. For 24mm 200x (PE/PD) the height is 14mm. If you know your carb type there is a chart in the link that tells you the height.

does anybody know what the correct float hight is?

14mm from carb body to the end of the float. If its out of adjustment, buy a new float due to it being plastic(no adjustable). Need any more help let me know!

i am pretty positive that there is no metal tab on this float i could adjust. i checked out bikebandit and a float is expensive.

Look at the gif in the link below. Click it to make it larger. Look at item #26. Items #23 & #24(float valve and float valve clip) ride on a peice of bendable metal. Here is where you adjust the float height.

i had the same problem on mine. i had cleaned the carb, put in the carb rebuild kit and it still leaked. i had the all plastic float so there was no adjusting it. i even tested the float out of the carb to see if it had a small hole somewhere and was taking in gas. It never took in gas. I put it back in and the thing still leaked, so i coughed up the $ for the new float and the carb hasn't leaked since. don't get it myself, but i'm back on teh trails.
