250sx cam chain adjustment

How do you use the cam chain tensioner on the 250sx?

It's self adjusting - supposedly if you take the 2 mounting bolts to the cylinder off and it pops out very little then you have worn timing chain and sprockets.

It's spring wound and puts tension on a plunger to keep the chain tight.

Springs break etc but other than that there's no adjustment.
