Well, it's son's turn to get a chain. Did daughters last year (nightmare). Anyways, it looks to be about a link short. He has about 1/2" adjustment on the chain that can be done. I also see on the left side there is a adjustment too. So, if we loosen both bolts and push it forward the 1/2" will this give us the room needed? Or do we need to add a link? I ordered the 84link chain for his.

TIA

it's better to have more, so i'd stick a link on, you could go half a link, but i never trusted half links, they can break easier than a full link, which equals a busted case!

We did that with daughters. I was trying to avoid getting one cut or buying a link  Question :-D when the two bolts on each side are pushed forward, doesn't this move the axle forward? Thus, giving more room?

there should be 4 bolts, and yes it will push foward, depending on what position it's in now. But it is still butter to add anothe full link, unless it doesn';t give you much tightening room, cause a new chain WILL streach.

That is my thought. Not much room to tighten. Left side is all the way to rear, and right side (kick start side) is about the middle.

4 bolts? I see a bolt the push this rod looking thing forward or backwards on each side of atc. On the kick start side there is a diagram for the chain (black, yellow, green), but the rod goes to other side, which there is an adjustment. Am I looking at wrong thing :?: :-D

After I loosen the nut, it moved forward with ease and worked! :-D
