I decided to just go ahead and finish it. No pics really yet, Im still assembling the motor. New rod kit, and 6 speed tranny in new cases. Now Im waiting on an order for gaskets and seals then I can button up the bottom end. As soon as the weather cooperates, Im sand blasting the frame and painting it, and the motor bottom end. I figure I will install the motor in the frame and then get the top end down to the machine shop. I have a bent cylinder stud, so im sure it will be easier to remove with the engine in the frame!? This thing was sooooo far gone its scary thinking about it, ask Howdy or Tim Sr. if you dont believe me. Took 2.5 motors to make one! Ive called in alot of favors and did alot of horse trading for parts and labor I couldnt handle, like the shock rebuild, for example, I need the shaft re-chromed even. This is going to be a long project, thats for sure. I guess I got spoiled with my other projects that my bro and I flew through. I did my 83 R in under a month, but it didnt need a bottom end and was complete, wheras this Z is a total basket case and alot WAS missing. I think I have 90% of the parts I need now, but wont really know what else I need till I start putting it together.
