TRX silencer on ATC?

Do 86-89 TRX R Silencers fit 85/86 ATC R's? I know the headpipes dont interechange....

I had a TRX FMF Silencer on my 85' 250R when I bought it. So they should interchange.

I had a TRX DG polished silencer on my ATC and it fits and will work. The rear top mount by the grab bar will bolt up, but the bottom frount mount will not. This leads to the silencer only being bolted in one spot so the whole pipe will swing in the front Expansion chamber mounts and will cause the top rear silencer mount to eventually crack.. This is what happened to mine. The rear mount finally cracked and the whole silencer fell off. So for now I have the LOUD Cobra silencer on it.

Mike--so an easy way to tell the differance between a TRX & ATC silencer is the ATC only has one mounting bracket, huh? Good info--thanks.

No. They both have two mounts. The top back mount is about the same. The bottom mount is about two inches off.

Yeah, the silencer itself will work. You will have to setup your own method to keep the silencer in place, though.
