I am takling about TOP end speed with the gearing that you normally ride with....Not some special Mach 1 gearing. State the gearing you are using for comparison. Year also. Lets see what everyone's running! :-D

I'd like to know how it runs on alcohol OR race fuel.

Once you go over 12:1 compression a 200X can run on race fuel with ease.

What kind of cams and compression you running with that Alky X?

Ok, Ok, I am looking for ###'s. Right now I am topping out at 64 mph as seen on my GPS. I am running 13/38 gearing and looking to drop a tooth or two on the rear. The motor is .020 over with 10.25/1 piston, Web Cam 89a grind, 27.7 mm carb, mild port job (just cleaned up), and a DG pipe. What are you all doing?

i had to put stainless valves in it to run alky i guess the stock valves wouldn't handle it...???don't know why.all you have to do to switch back and forth is change the jet.alky is easy to get here in the summer but in the winter it is hard so i run airplane fuel or race fuel instead.
when i put the motor together i checked the compression it pegged a 200psi guage!!! i have a comp.release from a 200 installed on it but i rarely use it.(the gasket was hard to get to seal on it because there is a spot that the head and valve cover had a very small spot that didn't quite line up...

i forgot to post in the earlier one the cam i run is stock.for now!!(still trying to decide if i want to get into that)kind of scary messing around with cams and clearances. if i spent 200 bones on a cam and couldn't use it due to valve clearance i would be pissed!!!!

I have seen 63.5mph via GPS on my 84 200X. It is .040 over, 10.25:1 Wiseco, I ported the head, webcam grind 214,DG exhaust, rejetted carb(Mikuni 28 flatslide sittin on the shelf wanting to be installed), 13/40 gearing w/20 in. shredders... Runs strong, will hang with a stock 350X with 20 in. tires/stock gearing
