axle powdercoat??

should i get my 250R axle powdercoated? or are the tolerences to tight for it?

I dont know what look you are going for, but on my one 350x i hung it from the rafters in my shop, put it in 6th gear my friend gave it a bit of throttle while i held sand paper around the axel, and polished both sides of, it looks just like new, took some time to do but well worth it

you can have the "fit" surfaces masked off so they dont get the coating. i would have the splines masked too, that way you sure your hubs will still fit, unless your bubs have some play, then you would want them coated too. where i used to work, i sent out HSS gear cutters to have them TIN coated and we would mask them off so the coating didnt adhere to certain areas.

What i would do it sand it with 600 grit,and then clear coat it.

I sanded my 185 axle, and the damn thing rusted to crap
