What's this sound from the Big Red?

On my '83 Big Red, when the motor is cold and I start it up, it sounds like there's a rubbing sound from the bottom end of the motor. Once it heats up, there is absolutely no sound at all, it shifts nice and everything works out fine. Just when it''s cold, it sounds like there's rubbing. Any idea? Thanks

It it like a metal rubbing sound or a rubber rubbing noise? If its a metal rubbing sound its like what my 84 used to do sometimes. It hasnt done it in ages but it sounded like gears were running in no oil. If you took it for a spin it would soon go away.
