View Full Version : whats the diffrence in carbon metal and sintered brake pads?

what the diffrence in those pads? im lookign to buy soem new oens for my 200x

carbon are for alot of stopping power, they are generally softer and wear faster, sinnered are super hard and last forever, but also you can wear out the rotor, as where the carbon won't wear the rotor, I still have the stock front pads on my atc250r, I use ebc's for the rear(carbon) the stopping power is awesome, but mud tears them up. With a wave rotor it helped alot on the wear. I'd say go with stock, I had 2000 miles on my xr250r with the stock pads and I replaced them with stock pads, the bike now has 3500 and they aren't too bad. Go with stock. If you are gonna do alot of mud use a sinnered for the rear, I think stock honda is somewhere between the middle of carbon and sinnered.
