I guess this is the weekend for crazy projects....but I was thinking about the similarities between the new 450 Quad by Yamaha and thier 450 dirtbike.

If the 450 quad swingarm will fit in the frame of the dirtbike then....you have a trike.

All you need to do then is to widen the triple clamps of the YZ. This has been done many times with 250R's to accomodate new CR upsidedown forks.

Again this does not seem like that hard a project. I saw a pic of a cannondale MX bike with the cannondale quad rear swinger on it as while back.

I need to do some measuring but it looks possible.

Any ideas?

That would be sweet. One thing though, is to get a wider seat if you do it. Riding a trike, you don't want a moto seat, lol.

The dirt bikes Ive seen converted, stand to tall, and are really awkwerd looking.. Ive never rode one, but Ive heard they dont turn well, handle well, and feel almost dangerous.

There was a guy on ebay converting new KX500's into "Tecates" by using pretty much a dirt bike, but adding the swinger and front end of banshees. I havent seen one of his machines online in a while though.

There are differences in the two. Check out the heat shield, and the number plate. Btw, atc crazy, your photochopping looks better than the one in dirtwheels. LOL, it had a huge line right down the middle, where it was "put" together.
