I have never worked on atv's , but have rebuilt many cars so when a
guy offered to sell me a 84 yamaha trimoto 175 for $200.00 .
I said whats wrong with it ? he said it smoked like freight train.
so I asked him if it did it all the time or only when it warmed up ?
he said all the time ......anyhow, I went to pick it up. he said it had been
siting for about a year. I said will it start ? so he got his chainsaw gas,
premixed, and yes it started and ran for five minutes or so. It smoked
heavily the whole time. so I figure...Rings are bad...so i get this thing
home and start teardown when I notice this tank of green color oil.
with a hose going to the carb.......he said it took premixed gas....
...is he right or is the tank an automixer ?.....if so...then it would take
straight gas....and then it wouldn't require rebuild...
any help on this would be appreciated......
