250sx value

just wondering what the approximate value of my '85 250sx is. It has a 200x front end with a 85/86 250r front fender. and i put a trx250x carb. on it.

It looks good. I'd say its worth a grand give or take a hundred bucks. What do you think?

Judging by the pictures - about 800$ give or take.

But that all depends on the tank being nice, rear differential in good shape, a good running motor and working electric start and battery.

May or may not be worth more than that in parts. The 250SX motor fetches very little as does the rearend unless you have a buyer. Pegs, battery box, shift and kick plus lots of other parts don't bring in much money on EBAY.

Plastic, differentials and tanks bring the best cash on a 250SX.

Its a very clean machine...looks nice. Id say about $800-900....mabey even $1K to the right buyer.

I just sold mine here in Oregon for 1250.00 and I already miss it.

I agree that we need more info on tank condition, motor condition, and plastics condition. But i just parted mine 250sx out with a 200x front end and got over $1300. It was alot of work but worth the $$$ for me since i like to keep busy. I'd say if you put it out whole and its in perfect running condition you would probably fetch $1000-1100 depending on where you live.

Once i'm completely done parting mine out i will post a pdf of my parts and prices and total amount. I have just my rear wheels, lightswitch, and CDI Box left. I can't beleive i have sold and shipped everything else out. And i can't beleive how much some of these parts sell for.

the motor runs great with the 250x carb installed it starts real easy. it has a new battery so the electric start works good. the front plastic looks pretty good. the back is faded but no cracks. the outside of the tank doesn't look so good thats why the tank cover is on it.front and rear brakes work good. since the choke lever is on the carb now i wired up a 300ex handlebar switch. the only other thing i've done to it is the original shift lever broke and i put a 110 lever on it which works good. thanks paul

Mmm...for the trike, I would say around 800-900$...very nice SX by the way ;)

the carb made a huge difference over the 85 carb that was on it. it has a built in accelerator pump and it starts alot easier.plus i like having the choke lever on the carb.

It all depends on your location on selling things. It seems that you didnt have the patience to wait for the right buyer to come along.

you also went from a 28 or 30mm to a 36mm carb.

the only bad thing about the carb was it would bog for a sec. if you hit full throttle from a stand still but after that it ran great with it. i checked the plug quite a bit when i first put the carb on it to see if it was running to rich and the plug always looked normal.
