The honda lighting coils are sized pretty close to the load of the original lights. Putting more lights on the trike will probably burn out the lighting coil in time.

I bought an H4 type from the autoparts store. It hasn't ate anything up in 3-years.

where do you get this info atcnut? I've heard that the 350x put out nearly double the power required to run the headlights it came with

Comes from watching people put more lights on three wheelers over the years. I have never seen a lighting coil fail on a trike with stock lights, only on ones with bigger lights. What happens when you put more load on the lighting coil the IR drop goes up. The lights will be dim and the coil heats up. The 350X coil is set up to run two 55 watt bulbs, the other trikes are only set up for one bulb. I think Honda ran the coils close to the line because to make a higher wattage coil make it bigger with more wire and magnets in it.

I'd like to find some 50 or 55 watt bulbs for my 350x. Might as well run what it can handle right? STockers are 35 I believe and too expensive from honda, I'm running 25 watt dennis kirk bulbs right now which isn't even as much light as stock.

Hey guys!

I think i got much more probs with those watts then u... i live in germany and here u got to have a front light (H4) tail light, stop light, turn signals, a horn, and at least a light wich u can switch on with motor off... my original coil couldnt handle this at all.... so for all wich need more power, heres the perfect solution:

Just install a complete stator (lighting coil) from a Honda XL 200 and the flywheel of this bike, it will all bolt up with no modifications and will give u enough power for a 65/75 watts front light, 2x 15 watts tail light, 2x 20 watts stop light, 4 x 20 watts turn signal and enough reserve to charge a battery (at least in the german version of the 200 xl it is so, there sthe stator has 3 coils: 1x ignition, 1x AC power, 1x dc Power...if u use a reticifier..)

Hope that might help somebody....

if u got specific questions about that contact me at
