I have rebuilt my 200s carb with a rebuild kit from dennis kirk and now i am not getting fuel from the carb to the motor. thetre is fuel in the float bowl. but when i crank the motor and put my finger over the spark plug hole it is dry. again all parts in the carb are new. except for the float valve it is a diferent style than the original. it is the same size but i have no idea how to get it to work. i am using the old one and the old one did work before. this bike did run before the rebuild but would not idle and would spit and sputter when acelerating. i have torn the carb down 3 times since the rebuild. i would work with any suggestions.

Has anybody run in to this problem?
well if you are getting fuel inside your float bowl then it isnt your float valve. check the manifold between the carb and engine. it might have been cracked before and you made it worse with the rebuild. also make sure everything is adjusted right on your factory specs.

The only thing standing between your float bowl and the motor are the main jet, slide needle, and the rubber tube that connects them.

i didn't know if my carb was working once. What i did was i took it off of the manifold, left the throtle cable on, and shot some compressed air through it. with the trottle all the way open, you will see the gas vapors come out of the carb. this will be a better way to see if your carb is in fact broke, because im not sure you'd get too much gas on your thumb from just kicking it over. hope this helps.
