I took the 200x out for a short ride today. It was really tough getting the hang of it. It seems to be really finicky about gear selection it died on me several times. Or I killed it. I've driven a standard before, but this one just seems to be really picky. I got the hang of it though and it ran pretty good. Part of the problem is the fact that it has no brakes and it doesn't seem to like engine braking. Other than that I took the fenders off and realized that it was missing the hose from the carb to the air box, so I sort of fabricated a filter to make it rideable for now. The oil looked like sludge, I cleaned out the gas tank, filled it up with the good stuff, and blew out the carb and it ran really good. It doesn't seem to be as torquey as the 225dx, but it feels like top end would knock the socks off the DX. SO I think I'm going to get some smaller holeshots as one of my first mods. The headlight bar needs to get straigtened, and the frame needs to be painted, among other things. I also wanna get some CR bars. Suspension was the smoothest I've ever felt on a three wheeler, and it slid around much easier than I expected it to, so I really like it. With a bit of work I think it could be a great trike. I need someone to tell me if that is an 87 tank and why don't the fenders match up if it's not. Also is that an extended axle? It just seems really wide for the size of the bike to me. What size holeshots should I go with for it? DO I need to go wider with them or not? Also is that 200x exhaust? It looks welded on. In addition if anyone has parts I need let me know. The pix will follow, along with the shots of part of my collection.
