I just installed a new carb. rebuild kit and the damn thing will not fire. the while cranking it, this is a 200s, i pulled the pull cord a little further than normal and it got stuck because the pull cord is attached by one strand. the 200s ran before i rebuilt the carb and now this. i have to go back through it again and see what went wrong. all i did was replace each peice one at a time, pullit off and put new peice on. hat thehell could have gone wrong?
first of all, you may want to fix that pull cord. it really sucks fixing it on the trail. been there done that. i had it down to about 5 minutes tearing it off, reknotting cord and putting back together with my leatherman.
as for the carb. are you getting fuel through it. try pulling the cord with your hand over the intake. if your hand gets wet then you have other problems. have you tried to push start it . i have had to do this a few times. after the first initial run it usually gets easier to start.
these have worked for me so far
good luck

200S's pull cords just break, especially when the decompression release is not working or disconnected .... its a fact of life you have to live with. The steel cable kit I've seen for sale at D/K might solve the problem. Keep tinkering with that carb, you'll get it - I'm just going to assume you seated, then 1 1/4 turned out the adjustment screws?. Try removing the "ether" screw/plug on the side of the intake (I think 200S's had one? - if it dosent, do it the normal way) and give it a squirt. Sometimes you need a little boost to get things flowing when you install a carb.

i will fix the pull cord first.
as far as the carn goes. i did move the needle up one clip. i think i may go back and move it down since it ran in that position. the float valve the rebuild kit had wa a slightly diferent style than the original. i could not figure out how to get it to work. i got the kit from dennis kirk and it was from moose. so if anybody has had this trouble please fill me in on how you fixed the new float valve. i will try squirting some fluid in there, but last time i pulled the carb off and cleaned it i didnt have this problem. there is no adjustment on the float to do. is there a float bowl screw to drain the float and see if it is getting gas there?
