Well, so far any way. Picked up this 85 ATC 110 for $100. Its been sitting under a canopy outside a barn for a few years. Brought it home and put a new plug in and tested spark and got spark. Did a compression test and had 140lbs compression with the engine cold, so i changed the oil and pulled the carb off and cleaned it real good and wha-la. Started right up and purrs like a kitten.
Now for the problem. The shifting on it seems weird, doesn't seem to matter whether im in LOW or HIGH on the tranny. I can be in neural and shift down and it does nothing but if i shift up it will go into gear. and it doesn't seem like it goes through all 4 gears but i could be wrong. I haven't driven it much because i don't have the air boot for the carb and its kind of sucking too much air right now and wants to stall. If i remember correctly the 110 is supposed to be 4 down, correct?
Anyways, im hoping to get this running for my oldest son, if not im sure i can always get at least double what i got in it so far. If i do get it working right Im going to put a new seat cover and tool box cover and was thinking about finding an aftermarket pipe for it to make it sound better.

My 110 won't go through all gears sitting either. When I ride it it shifts fine, nothing to worry about. ;) The 85's are 4 up.Looks like you got a good deal. My 110 lost spark yesterday. :x :(

hey hondatrikesrule22, i think i know what your problem is. take your cdi cover off and see if your pulser can be rotated freely just by hand, if it does this or even if it doesnt, remove your pulser and the thing that the pulser connects to (you will have to screw up the timing to do this but just use a permanent marker to keep it aligned) there should be a little pin sticking out of the camshaft, thats the thing that the pulser clings to.if it is, then i just wasted your time, but if it isnt, go get any 90,110,125,185,200 camshaft (cept an x) and take the pin from it. this has happened to me on both my 110s and my 185 and 200 shees.. hope that helps

It runs awesome. Starts right up and there is no ticking or rattling from the motor at all like i've seen on alot of the older 90 and 110's

Are you sure you are in neutral. If it doesn't feel like it goes thru all the gears you may be in 3rd(trashed gear) and believe it is in neutral. That would give the impression of having to shift up to get a gear. I would continue to shift up to see if you find neutral. Neutral should be all the way up, fourth all the way down.

No. it appears that "Hondatrikesrule" is right about it being 4 up on the 1985 model. Weird they did that for the last year of the 110. I drove it up and down the street throught all 4 gears in high and low. I had a couple times where i had it in first and stopped and it seemed to slip back into neutral, but never while driving.
On another note,,, i just used that KREME stuff tonight on the gas tank and i cant believe how good it takes the rust out of the tank!!!

i got my 185s for 50 bucks minus rear brake drum and bearings and it ran mint till i started driving it now i have all kinds of problems. can you possible put the dual range thing on a 185 that would be cool to have super low gears for mudding.

I was pretty impressed with the cleaning portion of the Kreme kit myself but the coating process on the other hand was very time consuming. In a further note It has been almost a year on the 250SX that I used it on and no rust in the carb still. I still like to try the radiator shop theory if I can find you around me that will do it. Anyways you diffently got a good deal on the trike and I am sure there are plenty more out there just like that and hopefully I will find some for myself.
Good Luck[/quote]
