1984 KLT200 help please

Ok, I have this KLT200 and can not for the life of me figure out how to get the left side engine case off, the one that covers the flywheel and stator. I took all the screws off that were facing me and it still won't budge one bit. I have to get it off because it is electric start only and the starter isn't catching. Thanks for all your help guys

i had the same problem with my starter, and the cover would not come off easily on mine either. Just give it a couple taps with a hammer around the edges and eventually it'll come off......worked for me.

I think there is something I'm missing, we used a slide hammer on the edge of the case and it started to crack before it ever moved....??????
