How do you get that sucker out? I'm going on day three for this bolt, and it won't budge. I'm about to resort to cutting it out with a torch! I was beating on it a minute ago and the head came off the hammer and nailed me in the shin. I almost lost my mind...now I gotta go get the hammer off the neighbor's roof! (only kidding) Have any of you guys had similiar problems? (not the hammer, the bolt) How'd you get that bolt outta there?
Thanks,
Jason
Easy Homie. Go down to the hardware store, buy yourself a can of PB BLASTER. Turn the trike on it's side, spray the PB down in the hole. Let it soak a while. I did mine morning and night for a week.
Step two. Find yourself a HUGE ASS 3/8 extension. Mine was an 18 incher. It has to be ONE though, it can't be a bunch put together. Now, you will need an assistant. Put the small end of the extentension one the end of the bolt, have an assistant hold it at the bottom so it won't slip. You hold it at the top, get yourself a 2 LB sledge, and start whacking the F#&K out of it, it will come out.
This is the way I did mine, worked like a charm! Oh by the way....when you put it back in, lube the bolt up realllllll good. Maybe some waterproof grease would work? Hmmmm....

I had a major ongoing battle with mine also.
I finally won using a rivet gun/air hammer.
The vibration from the gun worked the corrosion loose from the sleeves.
I worked it back and forth once it started moving a little.
Don't use it directly on the bolt it willl destroy the ends but use a peice of aluminum between the gun and the ends of the bolt.
Good luck

I beat the hell out of mine, I never did get it to budge, so I finally took a sawzall (recipricating saw) and slipped it between the frame and the bushing and cut the bolt on both sides. then I had to heat the swing arm cherry red and still had to beat the hell out of it to get the rest of the bolt to come out. If nothin else works give it a try. Sam

Time to tool up a puller. Soak it with some stuff. A little heat to expand the swingarm and start turning till it pulls out.

I bought a 28 ton press to press out stuck swingarm bolts, because I rebuild trikes all the time. If you are stripping the bike down you can take the frame/swingarm to a machine shop or auto shop and have it pressed out for a couple of bucks.

Alway, always, always use a good marine grade anti-sieze compound upon reassembly!!! Regular grease will not cut it! It's worth the couple of extra buck, and you'll never have disassembly problems again.
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, right??lol.
