This is my first post here, although I've been lurking for months. Here is a list of my trikes:
'77 ATC 90 (original owner)
'85 ATC 110
'85 200X with 185S motor (runs, but basically a parts bike)

I ran across an '84 200ES that appears to be in really nice shape. The original owner says it has a new battery, new rear tires, not as new front tire and a patched fuel tank. I will try to attach a pic. He is asking $1200 for it. I don't have any experience with the larger "big red" trikes. Does this sound like a fair price? It looks like it is in nice shape.

Any help would be appreciated!

Here is a pic of the gas tank repair. It looks tacky, but doesn't leak. The tank looks clean from the top. The only other problem is the rear brake had lever is missing. The cable is there, but he said the handle broke so he took the perch off too.

Thanks!

Hey there!!
Welcome to 3WW!!
Well, this big red seems to be in great shape, except the gas tank...if it doesn't leak, so it's good...but it's not very nice to see...the fenders are shiny, as well as the rest of the trike...it is really nice...

For the price, personally, I would pay less than 1200 bucks...try to get the price lowered... :)

That is a very nice trike but I think that the price is a little expensive,I would try offering him less.

That is a good looking trike. You can tell it has been taken care of but $1200 is a little high for it. I would think that offering $1000 would be good but I wouldn't blame you for paying $1200 if he wont come down. I do have to say that that is probably the best looking 200es I have seen.

Thanks for the replies. It's a one owner, adult owned, only used to hunt deer in Colorado unit. He has the original owners manual and a title. I wasn't too impressed with the JB weld gas tank fix. He said that it started leaking in '93 or '94 and he did that as a temporary fix. It never leaked again so he didn't bother changing it. The tank looks clean from the inside, as far as I can see. Is there a cover or something missing from the tranny (see pic)

I let a very nice '85 250ES get away a couple of weeks ago. Suspension on the back would be very nice.

thanks for the help!

The part that is missing is just a little cover, $6.24 from bikebandit.

Thanks for the info...and the link! I need to pick up a couple of small parts for my 110.

I appreciate the help. I think I will go look at the 200 this weekend, if it's not raining and see if he will take less.

Great site-Thanks for all the help!!

I just bought a 84 200es last weekend for $1000 and I thought that was a bit much.He was asking $1500 but came down when I told him you can 350s for $1200-$1500 on ebay. This trike is like new The only thing wrong on it , the tail light lens is cracked and it runs strong.Everyone that I tell I bought a 3 wheeler they ask "why?" they just don't get it.I tell then also that I ride my 83 v 65 magna with only two wheels and I don't tip over.Good luck on your purchase .bc.

I'll try to see him this weekend and make him a lower offer. I found it at a swap meet, along with this very nice '85 250ES. The 250 sold for $1300, but I was too late.

Thanks for all the feedback!
