This guy I know was riding his Big Red on the local trail system that is for all to use. Of course there are some bad apples in every bunch, and he came accross two bad apples on sleds. They stopped him and started rippin into him for riding on "their snowmobile trail" This trail is acyually a county trail and is used year round by everything from Bicycles to Horses, people walking, Dirtbikes, ATV's and Snowmobiles. Now Ive had a few run ins with some sledders for riding my 4 wheeler on the trails when I had it a few years ago. I told em I was just cruising along not making those huge whoops the sleds make when they get on it. Anyway these Chumps started poppin some real crap to this poor Big Red rider. He tried to go easy but these two fools were  so finally he tried to leave and they pushed him off his ride. Well they made two mistakes, they took off their helmets and they messed with a real bad ass dude. He pummeled in their faces real bad and gave the good ole Jolly Stomping they deserved. He didnt get hurt bad because he had his gear on. NOW IM NOT BRAGGING AND I LIKE SLEDDING, I'm just saying to be carefull if you ride on a Snowmobile trail because they seem to think they own all trails in the winter. But if you are rippin it up on their trails then you may deserve getting yelled at. Certinaly not harrassed and man handled. Ride Safe

Yea...it's not because it's winter that they own all the trails...

Here, if someone with an ATV rides in the snowmobile main trail, we can get about 250$ (CAN)... :x so that's why I don't ride very often in winter...

I dont see a real problem if your riding say a Big Red. If you were on a Quadzilla then yea maybe. I understand sledders pay for insurance and registration, and private land owners might not want wheelers around, but this was on an abanded railbed.
Just a couple of fools that hopefully learned a lesson. I think I would learn a lessson if my face got pounded in :)

the snowmobile only trail goes by my house and thru my land so i ride around on the part that i own..so 2 people stopped me 1 time on my OWN land that we aloud the trail to go thru and they started yelling at me for riding on their trail so i said its ok im aloud on here beleive me...then they said no yer not and called the warden on some radio thing...my dad is freinds with ray..1 of the wardens that patrols that part of the trail so the warden came and started lectureing me about riding on the trail and the guy goes i know the guy that owns this land his names dave harman and i doubt he'd appreciate u going on his land with your atv so i took my helmet off and said im alex harman. daves son so i sugest u get off my case before i talk to dad n tell him what happend here and tell him to reconsider allowing the trail go through our land next year when they come around asking if its ok. After they realized who i was they just said not to go off my own land because i can get into some big trouble..the 2 that had stopped me said that if i had told them who i was none of that would have happend..we talked for a bit more then they got on their rides n left. Thats my tale about snowmobilers.

that actually happend but i know it sounds kinda f'ed ....the guy i bought my blaster from told me a story about a big fight between some big boys....a group of atv's got the nerve to go 10 kms up a skidoo only trail and they met a group of skidooers..the skidooers blocked the trail and told them off...so some people on both skidoos and the atvs we're drinking and got into a fight...after the others broke it up and they got talking more civilized and the skidooers said we dont want 4 wheelers on our trails because the big heavy 4 wheel drives sink and cause more trouble because the groomers have to come and go over it more but a studded track causes's just as much damage.
