Rim Size

If you were to buy new rims, what size would you go with and why? I have seen that the 10" and 8" seem the most popular. Do they make more tires for one vs. another? Are there more rim choises for one size vs. the other?

9's and 8's are the most common because thats what come on the hondas stock as far as picking a size of a rim i dono why you would go for one size over another other than looks

the bigger the rim the less a tire will roll over, so it'll be less likely to 2 wheel. I'd go the biggest wheel possible, which I think is 10" for most tires.

What is the bolt pattern for the front of a 250r? What size tire and rim do people usually run on the front of a 250r?

There are obvious advtages to 8" and 9" rims, of having more tire between the rim and the road, which protects the rim and gives you a better, smoother ride. I asked somebody who was using big rims with a small tire what the point was, and he told me (which made sense) the purpose was to save weight. Aluminum rims weigh less than a lot of tire. He also confirmed my concerns that this setup is strictly for the track, and if you use it on rocky Ohio trails, your rim will soon look like a crumbled beer can. 200xer is right in that youll get less rollover, which is not wanted on a race track, but is somehwat desireable on the trails and can be adequately controlled with air pressure on trails to the extent that it needs to be.

If you wanted to go to a 10" wheel, but your pattern isn't available, there's enough material on the new wheels to drill a second pattern onto them, and even a 3rd! Just get the lug centers right!
