Just purchased a 200e today

Very excited, it fires up first pull every time so far! Plastics are in great shape and it even has brakes!! Only thing I need to fix is the electric start isn't hooked up as far as I can tell and the lights don't come on but I'm assuming that requires a battery. It also seems like it had a cable for reverse at some point? If anyone has some information on locations for either to hook up it would be greatly appreciated. I'm gonna take a good look for a vin tomorrow night as well.

I don't know how they were activated, but there used to be an aftermarket reverse kit sold for the 200E. It took the place of the low range somehow. That is if it's a ATC200E. If it's a YTM200E, then I doubt that there was an aftermarket reverse kit. The only year of the Yamaha 200 with reverse was 1985 and it was called a 200ER. Those used a lever for the reverse.

My bad yes it is in fact a ytm. it has the reverse button on the brake lever, just no cable coming off of that. I appreciate the reply

I'm pretty sure that it's a linkage, but could be wrong on that one. It may be possible to use one from a Timberwolf or a Bear Tracker on yours.I can't tell you for sure on that though.
