Hey guys ,well I’m at a bit of a loss here . My 82 R’s rear shock bushings are shot and normally I would just press in some new ones if I was able to find some that were available. but I can’t seem to find really anything. i’ve looked all over eBay all over every corner of the internet I could think of. The shock itself doesn’t leak and has good dampening surprisingly. For how long I don’t know though ,it won’t last forever.I know this is a long-standing issue for a lot of guys out there. of course they changed the shock design up completely in 83. Anyhow , there was a guy on here talking about the mid to late 80s Husqvarna CR 250 rear shocks, possibly fitting this. they visually look very similar. would you guys have any ideas here? I really have no idea what I’m going to do? . it has an aftermarket swing arm, but with the stock mounting. I would have to have somebody fab up new bracketry in order to retrofit a different shock onto this thing. I just wanna hear your guys experiences with either putting new bushings in the old shock or mounting up another shock all together.I have restored this trike to perfection top to bottom with nearly all NOS parts and sourced some mint used parts as well ,but this is the new hurdle I can’t get over .

Remove the bushing, measure it up and look for a proper sized heim bearing. Might have to bush the shock eye to get proper fit.

KEVIN in AZ does most of my works performance rear shocks. He has anything and everything. https://www.facebook.com/p/Jogaca-Suspension-Works-100057538866262/

His latest ordeal with me was a vintage trx200sx rear shocks shock....stupid hard to find...yep he had one. I ended up making my own replacement busings for the vintage works shocks due to working in a machine shop. The 1st gen R shock is pretty close to the trx200sx one and its dual rate springs really help. He can build OEM to be like a works too. Ive sent him about $5000 in suspension work over the last 10 years.

My works rear trx200sx dual rate shock I think kevin got me for $350 with a full rebuild and valving and respung for a 90lb rider (which will be my daughter) His prices are very fair.

I don't mess around with suspension (its the best 1st mod out there before anything else!)
