So my 85 bigred will only start if I bump start it, It doesn’t have electric start and the kick start doesn’t work and when k do start it it idles to high and the idle screw isn’t touching. I have a small leak coming from my oil filter case, I have a broken bolt in there and I jb welded it but it still slightly leaks I wonder if it’s from that. I really don’t know why the kickstart doesn’t work but I have a new clutch case coming, so when I put that on I’m gunna replace the one way bearing and the clutch plates see if that helps but lmk what y’all think

Kicker not grabbing is the one way bearing. As for high idle, it’s lean. Make sure you don’t have vacuum leaks. With the engine running, spray around the intake side with some carb cleaner. If it revs higher, it’s a leak.

Id add clean the carb too.
