Hi All. I was about to buy the Maier red fender from Kirk then looked on eBay and found a new no name fender for half the price?? Has anyone bought one of these? I am doing a complete restoration and don't want to very from the expected Maier stuff but HALF the price?? It looks too orange but who knows if the pics are right?

I can't help thinking the fender will be a bad match in color and maybe thinner plastic but you never know? If no one says they bought one and it was good I will probably not gamble and buy the Maier. My restos are all on YouTube and eventually go to Bring A Trailer so it has to be right. The problem is I'm still cheap! I am on oxygen since I looked at what a seat is going to run!

I bought a used set of plastics (maier) off ebay and paid about the same as the cheap new plastics for one of my 200x. these are just beater trikes so I painted the faded plastic. I'm tempted to make them look nice but not willing to go crazy for a trike that sits most of the time. Not only am I cheap, I try not to over spend on projects. I like to at least break even when I decode to sell, but I'm already past that with both of my 200x trikes. jim

What's the air cooled inline 4 with a USD frontend in the background?
And actually no, your front tire is not mounted backwards. That's the way it should be mounted on a trike for the best directional stability. I admittedly mount mine backwards for aesthetics.

Hi Shad, The bike in the background is a 1978 KZ650SR Cafe I built a few years ago. It is so much fun to ride I have never sold it. I tried to upload some pics of it but the site won't let the pics download? Last night I could post pics? Thank you for the tire info. Now what will I do with the time I saved by not having to dismount the tire??

I was told that the KXT brand name (not kawasaki tecate`) plastics seen on ebay are a nightmare to install. I personally have no experience with them.

Posting pics here is the dark ages because admin are basically useless.

I’ve bought plastics from all different manufacturers. None of them will ever fit 100% perfect. Maier is usually alright. Anything from DC plastics is bad. the KXT Pro stuff is middle of the road. You get what you pay for.

Maier is biggest of all brands now days. The stuff is very nice compared to the 1990's stuff. I just spend $750 for new TRX200sx atv plastics, bolted right on.

Sweet. I seen one with the Honda green plastics on it a while ago and it looked awesome. If I ever get a quad it'll be one of those. Just a puttin around rig. Fast 4 wheelers always try to kill me.

I have seen NIGHTMARES of the cheap plastics , hard and brittle, poor fitting you name it. some of these break into sharp shards like plate glass. careful what you get.

Total b.s. Maier sells their blems as Maier blems. There is no ATC industry. Trusted source must be MOSH lmao
And as he found out the hard way, you don't wanna go around making claims about how companies do business if you don't know what you're talking about.

may not be a atc industry but there's quite a atc culture out there and since it's a die hard group of crazy trike guys out there, you could call it a cottage industry. And these guys talk and network with each other, posts stuff up to help us guys that needs help. If there's some here say that these might be blems, for the price, my 200x is a blem. I migjt have to give a set a try. Wished I would have seen them before I bought a used set of faded maier plastics for more than these new ones cost. jim

Were you there? Were you in the conversation? No you werent. I dont name drop, my source is my business, not yours. As for a industry yeah sorry to break it to you, people are remaking vintage parts for atc and selling them, thats a business that provides for there families. When there are several business doing this, thats called an industry.
I dont know what a MOSH is?

Your "source" is irrelevant because it's wrong. Sorry if you got the impression that anyone cares who it is. You're a nobody and so are they. If you want me to make you look stoopid keep insisting that Maier lets other companies sell their blems as new product. It's 100% false so stop making shlt up dude.

It doesn't help anyone to fabricate "I know a guy who said" stories. Lol. I have no opinion on the no name fenders other than a blind 5 year old could tell they aren't Maier and I know for a fact that they aren't so this poser trying to act like he has inside info on a set of fenders is laughable. You don't need to tell me about posting things to help people Ive helped DOZENS AND DOZENS of people with their projects on this forum. Now you got 4 or 5 amateur hacks running around acting like pros who have to rebuild their stuff 4 or 5 times before it's right lmao
