I know I'm sort of comparing apples and oranges here, and I know about the basic differences as far as the cc's and 6 spd tranny and things like that, but numbers and stats only go so far. I want to know what you guys think, as far as actual rider experience. I know the DX is a great trike, because I have one, so primarily experience with it versus the 200x would be helpful.

I currently have a dx 225 and I used to have an 85 200 x, so here is what I think. The 200x has a much better suspension, and more power. The dx is more of a trial crusing bike where the 200x is more of a high performance bike. I peronaly like both bikes for what they are for, the dx is an awesome bike for trail riding and the X is a great sport bike.

I currently have a 1984 200x,the suspension is better than the DX and the 200x is more stripped down(No elec start, heavy shaft)so it is quicker. The DX gives a NICE smooth ride but my money is on the 200x for overall fun....

I like the 225dx cause it's small. But overall, the 250sx is a better machine for trail cruisin, imho. The 200x is a great trike. Handles good, has good power, just a lot of fun. For a pure trail trike, 200x. For a mix of trails and work, 250sx. But if I came across a 225 dx cheap I'd snag it, cause it is a good trike.

Yamaha's 225dx is my choice. It's a really good 3 wheeler. Like they all said if you like to do a lot of trailing this is one of the best.

i say the 225. first it's 4 stroke- lasts a lot LONGER and it also has more torque in the lower rpm's. i really hate 2 strokes because they get there power so high in their powerband. i also like the 225 because it can climb almost anything, even a 6% grade in 5th gear! yes i have done it, and it accelerated up it too!

Not trying to make you feel stupid, but Honda sport trikes with "x" after their CC's are four strokes. (i.e, 200x, 350x) Whereas the 250r is a two stroke. I think the 225DX I would rather have for every day riding (I still have it) but I love my 200x now for riding hard. But I do wish it was a torquey as the 225.
