I recently picked up a 1986 200x. The clutch was slipping when I got it, and when I changed the oil there was a dull grey film on top. I thought it was from clutch particles since it was slipping. I have since changed the clutch recently. I changed the oil and the dull grey film is still there on top. I don't think its metal shavings as its not sparkly like metal shavings are. Is this something I need to be worried about. It runs good and the new clutch does not slip.

Is there any chance you could be getting water into the CCV during washing? Or possibly if you are riding through a creek?

I have seen this happen with the CCV on 4strokes and with the power valve vent on 2 strokes.

Sounds like residual clutch debris to me , very common to see this especially after replacing a worn out clutch .

My clutch oil is always gray/silver. You would probably have to do several changes in a short period to "clean" it out.
