I just bought a 1982 Honda 200 3 wheeler yesterday. I bought it from a friend of mine. I rode it a little while yesterday at his house, and loaded it in my truck and went home. I got it home and because I don't have any ramps yet pull it out and let it kind of bounce out. My truck is a Dakota so it's not to high. So I tried to start it but it would not start. I tried again today but no luck. So I took the plug out and put it back in the boot, closed my shed doors so it was dark and no spark. The switch is on run, so do ya'll think by boucing it i knock something loose?

I say take all the plastics off and check all the wiring connections, there really aren't that many....might take 15 min. Then go from there.

hey, be sure to check the kill switch too!! If it's off center it will not have spark.

Try a new plug. You may be running a rich air fuel mixture that will foul a plug, especially if you ran it for a short time previously. if thats the case you need to tweek your carb.

Well I have fire, looks like the wire going to the coil was loose.
But still having trouble starting. I think the carb will need to be cleaned, the guy I bought it from says he has to pull on it a while if it's setting up for 2 or 3 weeks. But as luck has it, my pull rope popped. Can I use a rope for a lawn mower that are at all the local hardware stores?

Thanks guys I'm up and running. Put a new rope, started on the 2nd pull.
I think part of the problem was the rope was to short. I don't think the engine was turning over enough to start. :-D
