So, im confused. I got the original carb back on it about a year ago, and the idle is still screwed up. When the engine is cold starting, it stalls within seconds if I don't control the throttle, and when it's warm, it revs up uncontrollably unless I turn the idle screw way down, then it stalls, if I don't control the throttle. It has a really cheap Chinese air filter and I think that it's restricting airflow to the engine. Would that be a possible issue, or what else could it be? :wondering

does a 110 have springs for the timing advance? I'd check that, check to see your o rings on both ends of the intake is good. pull the carb apart and clean the jets. maybe check the valves too? jim

I've already put a rebuild kit on the carb, so the jets wouldn't be an issue. I'm pretty sure the Intake O-rings are good, if I remember correctly, they got replaced. I'm not sure how the valves could be an issue, and for the springs for the timing advance, I have no clue. I have the service manual downloaded to my phone, so I should check that.

Mine is a CDI model so for the spark advance springs, that would be a no.

my 200s, I put a new carb on a few months ago, ran great then it got ignored, fast forward 3 months and it doesn't want to run right, stay running. pilot jet was clogged! cleaned the jet and it's running great again.
isn't the cdi type 110 motor equipped with the advance under the cdi cover? the return springs are under the rotor. jim

Also make sure nothing is holding up the carb slide and it returns to sit on the idle stop screw. The cable can need some cleaning, weak return spring, sticky thumb throttle etc. Otherwise, it seems like the engine is getting air from somewhere as indicated above like leaky o-rings between engine and carb. Also a clogged jet can be compensated for by raising the idle, to get off the idle circuit and onto the main circuit. Make sure adjusting the idle mixture screw if it has one yields a response i.e if you screw it in the engine shuts off because you turned the fuel off at idle.

The slide should be working, as the whole carb was rebuilt, but the thing with the o-rings may be an issue because there may have been a mix-up with the new ones and old ones. I can rule out the throttle cable because it has been replaced and works much better than the old one. If there is any other suggestions, I'm open to taking them.
