Hows it going again, about 2-3 months ago I picked up a ATC 185 that would not start. I first checked and cleaned the carb gave it a good cleaning, followed by checking the timing(was off by like 5 teeth, and cam to sprocket bolts were loose). Set timing back to tdc and it started and ran great, one day I was riding it and accidentally ran it out of gas and it did not restart. Yesterday I double checked timing and it was right on the money, the intake valve adjustment on the other hand was not. Set the lash to .05 and it started and again ran perfectly. Today was riding it and it just died, brought it back into the garage, pulled the cdi cover and the cdi was of by like 90 degrees pulled the rotor and the pin that holds the cdi in time was gone. Does anyone know what pin would fit and hold up? Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you

you could probably cut a drill bit down with a dremil to fit. jim

Jim is correct a drill bit or even a heavy duty coat hanger would work.

You can still buy that pin new. Partzilla lists it for $2.26 and whatever the extra would be.

I appreciate the responses, I looked at the cam where the pin would go and it is wallowed out. I will have to make something work or get a new cam.
